SUBJECT: Monthly Testing
------
Dr. Mirage,
Monthly testing of SCP-963 has been moved to today. You have been granted the rest of today and tomorrow off at the request of Dr. Simon Glass, and your schedule has been updated accordingly.
Dr. Charles Ogden Gears</h2>
<p>(color:#FFC62D)[["...Fuck, man."|prologue6]]</p>(set:$sidestatus to "3")\
<p>You put your head in your hands. Testing of 963 was a mixed bag, but most of the time it fucking //sucked//.
Best case scenario, you get euthanized painlessly.
Worst case scenario, you walk into the room and see a D-Class sitting at the table, and the voice over the intercom tells you to kill them, even if you don't want to you have to take that goddamn amulet and stick it to the person and listen to them //scream// as you-
(color:#FFC62D)[[No. Stop thinking about that.|prologue7]]</p>(set:$sidestatus to "2")\
<p>You take a deep breath. Worrying about testing isn't going to get you anywhere. You need to distract yourself.
...
Well, as long as you're in the building, you might as well go talk to your coworkers, right?

Cold grey walls define the area. It's a bit unnerving, but you push the thoughts out of your head as you enter one of the observation rooms. There are a few people inside, but two catch your eye.
Draven Kondraki is tall, with dark skin and curly hair, dressed in tactical gear. James Talloran is a bit shorter, with long red hair and dressed in a lab coat. The two are standing close together as Talloran taps away at a terminal. You call out to the pair;

<p>James Talloran turns when they hear their name. He looks like he's about to speak, but pauses and looks up to Draven, then back to you. The other researchers in the room continue working, not sparing the three of you any more than a glance.
"Sorry, uh, I don't-" His brow wrinkles in concentration as he looks you over. Draven smiles and grabs his hand.
"You haven't met him, honey." Draven squeezes Talloran's hand. You nod, stopping a short distance from the two of them and putting out your hand.

<p>"Really? You never seemed like the type." Draven chuckles to himself. You put your hands up in front of you.

<p>The lights cut out almost as soon as the alarm starts. Red emergency lights come on soon after, flashing so harshly it hurts your eyes. Draven reaches for his handgun, and Talloran frantically types on the terminal.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Talloran backs up, reaching for Draven.

<p>"Fuck, I don't know." Talloran shakes his head. Draven wraps his free arm around them, scanning the window with a focused gaze.
You pull out your communicator and try to contact Gears, but the message doesn't go through. As you're looking at the screen, a roar sounds from the other side of the window. You and Talloran look up at it in sync.
"We need to go," Draven says, herding you and Talloran into the hallway and closing the door behind him.
(color:#FFC62D)[[You can hear the glass shatter on the other side.|czonebreach3]]</p>(set:$sidestatus to "2")\

<p>The three of you run further down the hall. Technically, you're not //supposed// to run during an emergency, but you're not about to casually stroll when there's something trying to kill you. Soon enough, you come across a T-shaped hallway.
"Shit, which way is the elevator?" Talloran looks between you and Draven, but Draven looks at you with the same confusion you're sure is plastered on your own face. A scream echoes down the hall behind you.

<p>You run into the right hall, Draven and Talloran following close behind. Frequent turns slow you down, which allows the thing chasing you to get closer and closer. Draven fires a few shots at it as he runs. You don't risk looking to see if they do anything.
After what felt like hours, the three of you make it through a doorway, and Talloran nearly breaks the button to close it once the three of you are through. The beast slams against it, scratching and howling as it tries to break through.

<p>You run into the left hall, Draven and Talloran following close behind. The hall is long and straight. As you run, you can hear the entity gaining on you. There's a doorway at the end of the hall, and you mentally thank 343 that it's open.

<p>It looks like you ran into the offices. There's an elevator on the other side of the room, and a hallway leading to the left. On the wall to your right is a fire axe in a glass case. Behind you, the door starts to creak and groan as the entity fights against it.

<p>Draven and Talloran escape down the hallway as you run for the elevator. You realize your mistake the second you hit the up button. A squeaking of metal can be heard from the elevator shaft, but it's quickly drowned out by the door behind you being torn open by the entity. Knowing you're going to die, you simply brace yourself as it runs towards you.
It snaps its jaws around your head, not quite decapitating you. Any scream you tried to let out would've been thwarted by your torn throat as it tossed you to the side.
(color:#FFC62D)+(transition-depart:"dissolve")[[You were dead before you hit the ground.|glasselevator]]</p>(set:$sidestatus to "3")\
(set:$status2 to "tal1")\
<p>All three of you run to the hallway. Draven takes the lead, making what seemed to be random decisions about where to go. The entity still sounded close behind, but none of you dared to turn around to look. Draven kept taking shots at the entity as he ran, not turning to aim properly.
Maybe it was for the better that one of those bullets embedded itself into your skull. Better than whatever that thing would've done to you if it had caught you, and it would probably give the two of them a chance to get away.

You pause for one moment to let the entity notice you. Once it starts running towards you with a roar, you swing the axe at it, letting your momentum carry it.
You couldn't tell if the spray of blood was from you or the entity, but you definitely felt your abdomen being torn open. Whether you screamed or not was impossible to tell.
